Preparing and Tagging your Items

Preparing and tagging your items:

The bottom portion of the sale tag will be removed when your item is sold.  Your seller number and the sale price on the bottom portion will be used to calculate your total sales.  It is important that the instructions for tagging your items be followed closely so that you receive proper credit for all of your sales.

  • All items brought for sale must have a sale tag attached.
  • You must use our tag format.
  • A template for the sale tags will be sent as an attachment to the email when we send you your seller number.   Use that document to print off your own tags or you can purchase a sheet of 12 tags for $0.25 per sheet at the front desk at the Franklin Education and Community Center.  (8255 West Forest Hill Avenue – Map)
  • If you print your own tags, be sure to use a heavier cardstock paper.  Standard copier/printer paper is more likely to tear off.
  • You may use colored paper for your tags.
  • Use only 1 tag per item.  If you need more space for information, attach a different piece of paper to the item.
  • Be careful when writing your seller number on the tags.  Do not transpose any numbers.  You can add the number before printing.
  • Be sure to include your seller number and the sale price on the top and bottom of the tag.  This helps at the checkout, when tallying tags, and assures you receive proper credit for your sales.  A $2.00 fee may be assessed if this is not done.
  • Tags with crossed out or otherwise changed seller numbers or prices will not be accepted.
  • While not required, adding a brief description of your item to the tag helps us to match a tag to an item if they become separated.
  • Use increments of $0.25 when pricing your items.  This simplifies checkout and calculation of your total sales.  We will round down to the nearest $0.25 increment if this is not done.
  • Clothing should be clean and free of stains and tears.
  • As a seller, it is your responsibility to not sell any items that have been recalled or have any known safety issues.
  • Be sure all pieces for your item are accounted for and if anything is missing make note of this on your tag and price accordingly.
  • Items accepted:  Most children’s items – Season appropriate clothing and accessories (size newborn to young adult/juniors), maternity, furniture, outdoor/sports equipment, toys, games, art/craft, holiday, etc…  We cannot accept car seats/boosters.  No VHS tapes will be accepted.
  • Do not use straight pins to secure the tag!  Use a safety pin or plastic hangers to attach your sale tag to clothing items.  Items found with straight pins will be removed from the sale.  This is for the safety of our shoppers and volunteers.
  • Stapling tags to clothing is not recommended.
  • Pin clothing sets together securely and indicate ‘2 piece set’ or ‘3 piece set’ on your tag.
  • We will have limited space for displaying clothing on hangers.  Outer wear, dresses and maternity clothes will be given priority for this space.  Where practical, please fold clothes for display on tables.
  • If you have clothing on hangers be sure these items will be secure on the hanger.
  • Hangers will not be returned.
  • We must be able to easily cut off the lower portion of the tag at time of sale.  Do not tape the bottom portion of the tag to the item.  Tape only across the top one third of the tag.
  • If using tape, wide packing tape is recommended.  Standard tape is more likely to tear off.  Tape only across the top one third of the tag.
  • Zipper type plastic bags work well for items with many pieces.  Taping the bag over the zipper portion will discourage it from being opened.  Tape the top portion of the tag to the outside of the bag.
  • Items with several pieces should be packed securely together.
  • If you do not wish to sell an item at ½ price, you must cross off this notation on the sale tag.  (Use black ink to cross off – do it like you mean it!)  If you wish to sell an item at ½ price – do nothing.  Do not circle, check or highlight.  Only crossing it off will keep the item at the full price.
  • If you do not wish to donate an item at the end of the sale, you must cross off this notation on the sale tag.  (Use black ink to cross off, do it like you mean it!)  If you wish to donate an item – do nothing.  Do not circle, check or highlight.
